This idea began after its founder stepped away from work herself. The return wasn’t easy — and it revealed something deeper: a system that claims to value inclusion often fails those trying to return. Unpaused emerged from that pause — not as a reaction, but as a problem worth solving. So Unpaused is Lived, not just researched.

Foundation

The person behind this idea brings over two decades of experience leading digital transformation and scaling operations across complex organizations. That track record now shapes this venture — with the mindset and skills to not just to get it off the ground, but to build something that can grow and last.

Where 

Career breaks aren’t rare — especially in the Nordics. But re-entry is slow, unstructured, and often unsupported. Sweden, despite its progressive image, leads the world in career break visibility — and lags in return-to-work pathways. Unpaused starts here because this is where the gap is most visible — and where a system designed to welcome people back can set a global precedent.

MEET THE FOUNDER

I am Cristina.

I’ve led digital and operational transformation in complex organizations for over three decades — but I’ve always been building more than systems. I build structure around people, vision around gaps, and traction around purpose.


For years, I thought my next step was a senior leadership role — CIO, COO, maybe CEO. But during my Listening Tour, the message came through clearly: I was thinking too small. That I had the capacity — and the responsibility — to found.


The idea I’m exploring now is Unpaused: a platform to fix the re-entry gap for white-collar professionals who’ve paused for caregiving, burnout, or relocation. That insight started from my own story — and from watching my husband lose a career he’d built for decades when we moved to Sweden.


But I’m not married to this single idea. I’m married to building something that matters. I’m here to co-create — and to bring operational clarity, execution power, and real-world grounding to a mission that deserves to scale.
